As an Environmental Scientist in Contaminated Land, join a Melbourne team where being good with data is actually useful rather than something that gets handed off to someone else.

This is aimed at someone around the 3-6 year mark who genuinely enjoys the technical side of consulting: getting into the field, gathering good data, making sense of it, mapping it properly in QGIS and then turning the findings into clear, defensible reporting.

You’ll still deliver the full contaminated land lifecycle, but you’ll also become a go-to person for spatial data within the team while gradually taking on more project management responsibility.

The Role You’ll deliver contaminated land projects while helping improve how the team manages, interprets and presents its spatial data.

Projects currently include:

Melbourne Airport 3rd Runway

Airport Rail projects

Waste sector projects

Large Due Diligence programs, including one covering 280 sites for an M&A; client

PSI, DSI, RAP and validation projects across Victoria

Day-to-day, you’ll:

Plan and coordinate field programs and the spatial datasets that sit behind them

Use QGIS to organise,



interpret and communicate environmental data

Turn field results into useful mapping, analysis and technically strong reports

Manage contaminated land investigations from fieldwork through reporting

Start taking greater ownership of budgets, programs and project delivery

Bring ideas around GIS and data management that can improve how the wider team works

The Melbourne team has built a strong pipeline despite a tougher Victorian market. You’ll work under an experienced and approachable local leader, with room to suggest better ways of doing things and actually see those ideas put into practice.

Experience

Around 3-6 years’ environmental consulting experience

Contaminated land experience across fieldwork, investigation and reporting

Working knowledge of QGIS and a genuine interest in spatial data and interpretation

Environmental Science, Engineering or related degree

$80,000 – $100,000 + super
