Our award-winning platform seamlessly integrates operational and third-party risk management, operational resilience, business continuity, incident and crisis management, emergency management, and security and safety operations.

The Product Engineering area is responsible for designing, writing, testing and deploying the code for our software products at Noggin. The area consists of front-end only developers, backend-only developers, full-stack developers, test automation developers, and quality analysts. Developers and analysts are grouped into sprint teams of about 5 people, which focus on different aspects of the product. We run an Agile methodology and have adopted best practice processes and frameworks to ensure that the product is high-performing, secure and scalable.

Job Description The purpose of this role is to apply software engineering skills and experience to plan, design, build, deploy, support, and maintain our software products and services. Level 4 Senior Engineers have the technical skills to take an initiative from start to finish on their own.

They can conceptualise and work on complex multipart systems and break them down in to straightforward components for others. They can effectively phase tasks to reduce risk and pre-empt service and upgrade interdependencies to minimise disruption.



They can triage and diagnose the most complex of operational problems.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze and plan improvements to Noggin's products and services, including producing technical designs, estimating effort, test planning, and deployment sequencing.
n
- Implement and ship improvements to Noggin's products and services, complying with Noggin's development standards, procedures, requirements, and timelines for each task.
n
- Apply testing strategies to ensure that Noggin's products and services functionally and non-functionally meet customer expectations.
n
- Provide technical advice to the Engineering Management, Team Leads, other areas of the business, and to customers as needed; including attending meetings to provide a technical perspective or providing reports and/or documentation.

- Assist other teams with their duties when necessary.
n
- Monitor the health and reliability of Noggin's products and services, and resolve operational issues and activities as they arise.
n
- Maintain details of progress, time spent, and status of work within the issue tracking system.
n
- Document products, services,



and processes to a level appreciated by another engineer in a similar role who may not have the detailed knowledge of the product or service.

- Update job knowledge by keeping up to date with industry trends and ideas, studying development tools and programming techniques, and reading professional publications.
n
- Read and contribute to functional and technical specifications where applicable.
n
- Continuously contribute to improving Noggin's software engineering process, including estimation, design, quality assurance, security, efficiency, and innovation techniques.

- Engage, contribute, and be involved in technology chapter meetings
n
- Responsible for coaching the lower-level engineers in their team by sharing knowledge and contributing to a safe and inclusive environment.

Education and Qualifications Essential: Tertiary degree in software development (or similar) or at least 6 years commercial (paid) software engineering experience Experience and Skills Essential: 5+ years commercial experience using the technologies required to be used in the product and/or team. E.g., Typescript, Angular, NodeJS, and PHP as appropriate. It will also be beneficial (not mandatory) if you have: Personal Attributes Advanced skills in the technologies required to the assigned product/team Knowledge of web-related technologies and protocols

Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies Can articulate a point of view on technologies Knowledge on high-availability and distributed systems concepts
