We're looking for an experienced

Leading Hand Boilermaker

to take ownership of day-to-day workshop builds while remaining heavily involved in fabrication and welding.

This is

not a desk-based Workshop Manager role .

You’ll spend around

90% of your time on the tools , working alongside the team, with the balance focused on allocating builds, coordinating workflow and keeping production moving.

The Role You’ll lead a small workshop team of approximately five people and take responsibility for how builds move through the floor.

Your day will include:

Hands-on fabrication and welding

Reading and interpreting detailed fabrication drawings

Allocating work across the workshop team

Delegating individual builds and priorities

Keeping jobs moving against production deadlines

Supporting tradespeople with technical issues

Monitoring quality and workmanship

Identifying issues before they impact production

Working closely with management around workflow and priorities

Maintaining strong workshop safety standards





About You We're looking for someone who is technically strong, practical and comfortable taking the lead on the floor.

You’ll ideally bring:

Trade qualification as a Boilermaker / Fabricator

Strong structural steel or heavy fabrication experience

Confident drawing interpretation skills

Strong welding and fabrication capability

Leading Hand, Senior Boilermaker or supervisory experience

Experience coordinating or directing a small team

Good understanding of workshop workflow and build sequencing

A hands-on leadership style

You

do not need to be an experienced Workshop Manager .

This role could suit an existing Leading Hand or a

Senior Boilermaker ready to step up without stepping away from the tools .
