We are a well-established specialist medical practice providing high quality, patient-centred care within a supportive and team-focused environment.
We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team on a permanent part time, 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday) basis. Occasional sick and holiday relief on a Friday will be required. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a structured, busy practice and takes pride in being organised, reliable, and part of a collaborative team.
About the Role
This is a varied front desk and administrative role supporting a team of specialists, nurses and administrative staff. You will be working within established systems and processes, with support from senior team members.
Your responsibilities will include
- Front desk reception and telephone enquiries
- Appointment scheduling, recalls and waiting lists
- Booking and coordinating procedure/theatre lists
- Processing payments, Medicare and health fund claims
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Liaising with hospitals, referrers and healthcare providers
- Supporting the day-to-day coordination of patient care
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in a medical reception or healthcare administration role
- Is confident using Genie or similar medical software
- Has a sound understanding of Medicare and private billing
- Is organised, detail-focused and able to follow processes accurately
- Communicates professionally and with empathy
- Works well within a team and supports colleagues when needed
- Is reliable and takes pride in their work
Flexibility with start and finish times (within standard weekday hours) is required.
