Subcontractor Speech Pathologist

$110 per hour plus travel

United Care Network is seeking a motivated and compassionate Speech Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team on a subcontractor basis.

We provide community-based services to NDIS participants aged 0–65 years. Our current caseload is predominantly paediatric and includes participants with autism, ADHD, developmental delay, speech and language delays, social-communication differences and other developmental or functional support needs.

Services are delivered across Melbourne’s northern and western suburbs in participants’ homes, schools, kindergartens, childcare centres and community settings.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct speech, language and communication assessments.
- Develop individualised, evidence-based intervention plans.
- Deliver person-centred and family-centred speech pathology services.
- Support participants with speech-sound development, expressive and receptive language, social communication, literacy and functional communication.
- Assess and support augmentative and alternative communication when within the practitioner’s scope of practice.
- Provide mealtime and swallowing support when appropriately qualified and within the practitioner’s scope of practice.
- Prepare accurate progress notes, assessment reports, therapy plans and NDIS supporting documentation.
- Monitor participant progress and review intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with participants, families, educators and other members of the support team.
- Maintain professional, ethical and NDIS-compliant clinical practices.
- Travel to participants across allocated service areas.





Essential qualifications and requirements

- A recognised bachelor’s or master’s degree in Speech Pathology.
- Eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Current Certified Practising Speech Pathologist status, or eligibility to obtain it.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Clearance.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- Valid Australian driver’s licence.
- Access to a reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Australian working rights.
- Current ABN and capacity to provide tax invoices.
- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
- Solid written communication, clinical documentation and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.

Experience within the NDIS, paediatric practice or community-based speech pathology is highly regarded; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply.
