The Role

My client is looking for an experienced senior manager to join the existing management team and take responsibility for the Perth operation. This is a hands-on leadership role covering sales, business development, customer relationships, team management and the overall performance of the WA business.

The right candidate will assist in leading the local team, develop current business, strengthen existing customer relationships and work closely with the wider business to improve performance and grow the WA market.

There is also the opportunity to build a long-term career within the wider group for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

State Leadership: Take responsibility for the overall performance and day-to-day management of the Perth operation. Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities across the WA market while continuing to grow existing customers.

Sales Leadership: Lead the sales team, set clear targets and ensure the team remains focused on achieving sales and margin objectives.

People Management: Lead, mentor and develop the local team, helping to build capability and future leaders within the business.

Customer Relationships: Develop strong relationships with key customers and remain closely connected to the WA market.





Commercial Management: Monitor sales, margins, budgets and other key business measures to ensure the operation performs commercially.

Market Development: Keep up to date with market conditions, competitor activity and new opportunities across the WA steel industry.

Internal Collaboration: Work closely with operations, logistics and other departments to ensure customers receive a high level of service.

Planning: Develop and implement sales and business plans to support continued growth across WA.

Continuous Improvement: Identify practical ways to improve sales performance, customer service, team performance and business processes.

Role Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have;

- Strong experience within the steel, metals or closely related industry
- Previous experience managing a sales team, branch or business operation
- A strong understanding of the WA market
- Proven experience developing new business and growing existing customers
- Strong commercial understanding, including sales, margins and budgets
- Experience leading, mentoring and developing a team
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A hands-on approach to management and business development
- The ability to make decisions and take responsibility for results
- A genuine interest in building a long-term career within a larger group
