Founded in 1863 by the Uniting Church, the College has more than 2000 students across five vibrant campuses from our Early Learning Centre through to Year 12. About the Position: Newington College is seeking a suitably qualified and caring Teacher's Aide to join our Inclusive Learning Department on a permanent basis

commencing start of Term 1 2027 for a 12-month contract.

The Teacher’s Aide is a qualified, caring, enthusiastic and proactive person who possesses excellent communication skills, demonstrate a genuine empathy for students with individual needs and is a great team player. This position is required to undertake a variety of duties including primarily classroom support and assistance in the preparation of differentiated teaching materials.

This position requires working 38 to 39 weeks per year,



during term time. The remuneration will be proportionate to 1.0 FTE and the number of working weeks.

About you:

have sound secondary school experience and qualifications as a Teacher’s Aide

have a sound understanding of the learning needs of students and a demonstrated empathy for students with individual learning needs

be able to implement specialised learning programs and engage students in a vibrant differentiated education program

assist and provide support to all students to achieve improved educational outcomes by acting as a support person with the mentor for students within the Pastoral system

support teachers to understand the educational, health and welfare needs of Aboriginal and Indigenous students in their classroom

work effectively as a member of an enthusiastic team and work in collaboration with teachers

assist with the preparation of teaching aids and resources

show a genuine appreciation and commitment to pastoral care of students

have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills

possess a thorough knowledge of protected work practices and WHS issues

understand and adhere to the College’s Child Safeguarding policies and practices

contribute to the continuous improvement of Child Safeguarding at Newington.
