Job Advertisement Engineering Technologist – Solar & Renewable Energy Systems Employer: Smart Energy Answers Location: 2c Hudson Ave, Castle Hill NSW 2154 Salary: $79,499 - $90,000 About the Role Smart Energy Answers is seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Technologist to join our team, supporting the design, development, and implementation of solar and renewable energy systems. This is a full‐time position based at our Castle Hill office, working closely with our engineering team on residential, commercial, and utility‐scale solar energy projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist engineers in the design, development, and testing of solar and renewable energy systems and components
n
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, layouts, and documentation for solar PV installations and related energy systems
n
- Conduct site inspections, assessments, and feasibility studies for proposed solar energy installations
n
- Perform system performance testing, monitoring, and evaluation of solar energy equipment and installations
n
- Assist in the selection of appropriate materials, equipment, and components for renewable energy projects
n
- Provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar energy systems
n
- Analyse and interpret technical data to identify system inefficiencies and recommend design improvements
n
- Ensure all designs, installations,



and documentation comply with relevant Australian Standards, codes, and regulatory requirements
n
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, contractors, and clients to support project delivery timelines
n
- Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and compliance records
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and renewable energy solutions
n

Skills and Experience Required

n

n
- Relevant qualification in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field (Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor's degree)
n
- Demonstrated experience in solar PV systems design, installation, or renewable energy engineering support
n
- Sound knowledge of solar energy systems, electrical principles, and renewable energy technologies
n
- Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and compliance requirements for solar/renewable energy installations
n
- Proficiency with technical design and drafting software (e.g. AutoCAD, PVsyst, or similar)
n
- Solid analytical, problem‐solving, and technical documentation skills
n
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers, tradespeople, and clients
n
- Ability to conduct site visits and inspections as required
n

Salary Base salary: $79,499 – $85,000 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime and additional benefits may apply in accordance with the employment contract. (Base salary is exclusive of superannuation and other benefits.)
