Housekeeper / Family Assistant – Northbridge, Sydney 12 hours per week Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 7:00am – 11:00am

A lovely family in Northbridge is looking for a reliable, organised and proactive Housekeeper / Family Assistant to support two busy qualified parents and their two young children, aged three and one. The role is about providing practical support around the home, helping with the children in the morning and taking ownership of the household tasks that keep family life organised and running smoothly.

Job description; 7:00am – 8:00am; The first part of the morning will involve helping the family get the children ready for preschool/daycare. Duties will include:

Helping prepare and supervise breakfast

Helping the children get dressed and ready for the day

Tidying the kitchen and children's areas as you go

Helping the family get organised and out the door around 8:00am

One or both parents will always be home during this part of the morning, so the role is to assist with the children rather than have sole responsibility for them.

8:00am – 11:00am; Household Support - Once the family has left for the day, the focus will shift to household and family support. Tasks will vary from week to week and may include:

Washing, folding and putting away clothes and linen

General tidying and organising around the home

Keeping the kitchen tidy after breakfast and loading/unloading the dishwasher

Planning family meals for the week

Grocery shopping and keeping household supplies stocked

Preparing family meals and snacks





Preparing lunchboxes and food for the three-year-old's preschool

Batch cooking meals that can be frozen for the children

Meeting handymen, tradespeople or other service providers at the home as required

Dropping off or collecting dry cleaning

Purchasing gifts for children's birthday parties

Running occasional household errands

Other practical tasks that help keep the household organised and running smoothly

** The family has a professional cleaner who attends once a week on Monday afternoons.

Candidate requirements;

Minimum 3 years in a similar role

Current, clear Police check

WWC

Trustworthy, reliable and dependable

Comfortable and confident around young children

Organised, efficient and practical

Proactive and able to take initiative

Someone who naturally notices what needs to be done and gets on with it

Comfortable working independently

A good communicator with sound judgement

Happy to become familiar with the family's routines and take ownership of the household support

Someone who is also comfortable caring for a child at home if they are occasionally unable to attend preschool/daycare due to illness would be a wonderful advantage. One of the parents would likely also be working from home in these circumstances, but this is not essential to the role.

This would suit someone who enjoys being part of a busy family household and takes genuine pride in making everyday family life a little easier.
