Qualified Civil Plumber | Licensed Plumber - Civil Works

A & B Civil Contracting is looking for a trade-qualified Civil Plumber / Drainer to join our crew on the Lloyd Street Sewer Replacement Project for Mareeba Shire Council (Contract T-MSC2025-09).

This is hands-on civil plumbing - not domestic maintenance. You will be installing new sewer gravity mains, maintenance holes, rising mains and associated pump-station works in a live urban network. The existing sewer was damaged after Tropical Cyclone Jasper and later flood events. The job is to put a permanent, compliant system in the ground.

Work is based in Mareeba. Local Tablelands and Cairns-based trades are strongly encouraged to apply. Full-time site role with overtime as the program requires.

What you will be doing

n

Install gravity sewer pipework to line, level and grade from construction drawings and set-out

n

Build and connect maintenance holes, including benching, drops, covers and connections

n

Install sewer rising main pipework and associated fittings

n

Assist with civil works around FRP and reinforced-concrete sewage pump stations

n

Joint, bed, haunch and backfill pipe to specification

n

Carry out and record pressure, air and deflection testing as directed

n

Work around live sewer, existing services and traffic in a town-street workplace

n

Read civil drawings,



set-out tables and ITPs; complete daily dockets and as-built mark-ups

n

Follow the site WHS plan, SWMS, confined-space and trench-safety controls

n

What you must have

n

Current QBCC Occupational Licence - Plumber and Drainer (Queensland). Provisional licences considered if you can work under a licensed plumber on this site

n

Construction White Card

n

Current Queensland driver licence and reliable transport to Mareeba

n

Proven civil plumbing / drainage experience - sewer or stormwater mains, not bathroom and tap work only

n

Comfortable working in trenches and around plant

n

Unrestricted right to work in Australia

n

Highly regarded

n

Enter and Work in Confined Spaces

n

Working at Heights, First Aid, traffic control

n

HR licence, excavator ticket, or top-man / pipelayer experience

n

Council or water-authority sewer upgrades, pump stations or rising mains

n

Poly welding and PVC / DICL / RC / PE experience

n

Local Mareeba / Tablelands / Cairns knowledge

n
