What You'll Do

Assess and document client AI strategy, roadmap, vision and transformation plans, including AI objectives, guiding principles and strategic outcomes

Review current and planned AI initiatives, executive reporting arrangements, and investment, prioritisation and funding governance processes

Design and document AI Governance Frameworks, including Terms of Reference for governance committees, decision‑making and approval processes, and escalation pathways for AI‑related risks and issues

Develop AI risk assessment methodologies, risk registers, treatment plans and risk taxonomies, including criteria for classifying AI solutions as low, medium or high risk

Assess emerging AI risks including generative AI, agentic AI, third‑party AI services, model drift, hallucination, data leakage, privacy and bias/fairness considerations

Build and maintain AI system inventories and use case registers, including guardrails, version control, agent prompt registers, and business owners and accountable executives for each use case

Define and embed Responsible AI principles, aligning with OVIC, DPC, Commonwealth or other recognised AI guidance, and establish human oversight and human‑in‑the‑loop controls

Assess privacy impact requirements, data classification and handling requirements, and AI‑specific privacy controls for AI systems and agents

Review security architecture, model access controls, IAM arrangements and monitoring/logging capabilities relevant to AI environments

Establish due diligence,



contractual controls and assurance requirements for AI vendors and third‑party AI/LLM providers

Define assurance and monitoring arrangements, including metrics, KPIs, compliance monitoring and incident management processes for AI systems

Support capability uplift through AI training, awareness programmes and guidance on acceptable AI usage

As An AI Governance Consultant You Will Perform

What You'll Bring

Deep understanding of AI governance frameworks, committee structures, and decision‑making and escalation processes for AI initiatives

Strong experience developing AI risk assessment methodologies, risk registers and risk taxonomies, including for generative AI and agentic AI

Ability to assess AI use cases against risk and business criticality, and maintain AI system and use case inventories

Responsible AI & Privacy

Experience embedding Responsible AI principles covering fairness, explainability, transparency and accountability

Working knowledge of OVIC, DPC, Commonwealth or equivalent AI governance guidance

Understanding of privacy impact assessment requirements, data classification and handling requirements for AI systems and agents

Security & Vendor Assurance

Understanding of security architecture for AI environments, including model access controls, IAM and data loss prevention considerations

Experience defining due diligence and contractual assurance requirements for AI vendors and LLM providers

Ability to assess AI supply‑chain risks and third‑party AI service arrangements

Leadership & Communication

Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills,



with the ability to work across executive, risk, security and technical audiences

Able to produce clear governance documentation, reports and presentations for senior and executive stakeholders

Experience delivering training and awareness programmes to uplift AI capability and acceptable‑use understanding across an organisation

Tools & Practices

Familiarity with AI platforms and architectures, including LLM gateways, development platforms and cloud AI services (e.g. AWS AI/ML services such as Bedrock and SageMaker)

Understanding of monitoring, logging and audit capabilities relevant to AI platforms

Experience developing metrics and KPIs to monitor AI effectiveness, compliance and risk

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant certifications or qualifications in AI governance, risk management, privacy or information security (e.g. AI governance/ethics certifications, CIPP/CIPM, ISO/IEC 42001 or ISO/IEC 27001 familiarity)
