About the Role
Lead a busy Emergency Department managing approximately 27,000 presentations annually. This role combines clinical practice with departmental leadership, including governance, service development, education and workforce growth. Approximately 20-25 hours per week is dedicated to leadership responsibilities. Suitable for FACEMs passionate about training, accreditation and service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the Emergency Department and medical team
• Deliver expert emergency care
• Drive clinical governance and quality initiatives
• Oversee training, supervision and education programs
• Support service development and accreditation
• Participate in the on-call roster
Essential Criteria
• AHPRA Specialist Registration in Emergency Medicine (FACEM)
• Recent specialist ED experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Commitment to teaching, quality improvement and patient safety
• Ability to participate in on-call requirements
