We are seeking a calm, reliable and experienced Tagalog-speaking Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality, person-centred support to a client living in Brookfield, VIC The successful candidate must be confident driving and have their own reliable vehicle, as the role involves transporting the client to appointments, activities and community outings.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide respectful and consistent support tailored to the client’s individual needs, preferences and support plan.

Your responsibilities may include

- Communicating with the client in Tagalog to support clear communication and build a comfortable, trusting relationship
- Supporting a client with an intellectual disability, including providing gentle prompts and guidance with day-to-day tasks and routines
- Providing Domestic Assistance (DA), including light household cleaning, laundry and maintaining a safe and tidy home environment
- Providing Community Participation (CP) and companionship, such as going to the park, having a coffee and participating in other community-based activities
- Preparing nutritious meals based on the client’s preferences and needs
- Encouraging independence and supporting the client to complete everyday activities at their own pace
- Providing calm, patient and respectful support with a focus on strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Building a positive and consistent relationship while promoting the client’s choice,

- Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times

About You

You are a compassionate and dependable Support Worker who:

- Speaks Tagalog confidently
- Is calm, patient and respectful
- Experience is Intellectual Disability is highly desirable
- Enjoys providing companionship and social support
- Is confident driving and transporting a client
- Can prepare simple, nutritious meals
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Can follow support plans, routines and instructions accurately
- Is comfortable working independently in a client’s home and community
- Is reliable and committed to providing consistent support
- Respects individual choice, privacy, dignity and independence
- Has a genuine passion for making a positive difference in someone’s everyday life

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

- Confident Tagalog -speaking skills
- A valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- Your own reliable vehicle suitable for transporting the client
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care or a relevant qualification ( preferred)
