About the role

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of technology projects and initiatives across a complex public sector environment. You will work closely with project managers, technology teams, architects, developers, vendors and business stakeholders to understand business needs, analyse existing systems and processes, define requirements and support the development and implementation of effective technology solutions. This is a role that will suit someone who is comfortable getting into the detail while also understanding the broader business and project objectives.

Key responsibilities

- Working with business stakeholders to understand and document business needs, objectives and requirements.
- Conducting detailed business and systems analysis across complex technology environments.
- Translating business requirements into clear functional and technical requirements for delivery teams.
- Developing high-quality business requirements documents, functional specifications, process maps and other project documentation.
- Analysing existing systems, processes and technology capabilities and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Working closely with solution architects, developers, technical specialists and project managers to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
- Facilitating workshops, interviews and requirements-gathering sessions with key stakeholders.
- Supporting solution design and assessing proposed solutions against business requirements.




- Identifying dependencies, risks, issues and potential impacts associated with proposed changes.
- Supporting testing activities, including the development and review of test scenarios and acceptance criteria.

About you

- Significant experience working as a Technical Business Analyst within a complex organisation.
- Strong requirements gathering, analysis and documentation skills.
- Experience analysing business processes, systems and technology environments.
- The ability to translate business requirements into clear technical and functional specifications.
- Solid experience working with technical teams, including developers, architects and infrastructure specialists.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- The ability to facilitate workshops and manage requirements across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capability.
- Experience working within structured project delivery methodologies, Agile environments or a combination of both.
- Experience working on large-scale transformation, systems implementation, technology or business improvement projects.
