About the role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Security Installer/Security Trainee to join our growing team at JC Electronic Security in Palmerston, NT. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to launch your career in the security and telecommunications industry. As a trainee, you will work under the guidance of experienced technicians and engineers, gaining hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security and telecommunications systems.

This role is pivotal in supporting our operational excellence and helping us deliver outstanding service to our clients throughout the region.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting experienced technicians in the installation and configuration of security systems, including alarms, CCTV, and access control systems
- Supporting the installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment and cabling infrastructure
- Performing system testing and quality assurance checks to ensure all installations meet industry standards and client requirements
- Responding to service calls and providing technical support to clients under supervision
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed, including documentation and system configurations
- Learning and applying best practices in health, safety, and compliance procedures across all job sites




- Assisting with the diagnosis and resolution of technical faults in security and telecommunications systems
- Collaborating with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to schedule

What we're looking for

- Year 10 or equivalent educational qualification minimum
- A genuine interest in security systems and telecommunications technology
- Strong manual dexterity and practical aptitude
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work safely and responsibly, with a focus on health and safety compliance
- Good communication skills and the ability to take instruction and work as part of a team
- Reliability, punctuality, and a skilled attitude towards work
- A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transport
- Willingness to undertake formal training and pursue relevant industry certifications
- Previous experience in a trades or technical role is advantageous but not essential
