Salary: $596,075 – $639,082 + allowances

About the Role

An exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced physician to lead a dynamic Medicine department in a major regional referral hospital. Working closely with executive medical leadership, you will oversee service delivery, workforce planning, and the development of a sustainable, high-performing medical team. The role combines 0.5 FTE leadership with a flexible clinical component. You will play a key role in enhancing staff wellbeing, driving quality care, and ensuring culturally appropriate services for a diverse population. International candidates can be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Department of Medicine
- Oversee workforce planning and service delivery
- Promote a positive, high-performing team culture
- Ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centred care




- Represent Medicine across regional and executive forums
- Support training, development, and teaching activities

Essential Criteria

- Specialist registration as a Physician
- Proven leadership and management experience
- Commitment to culturally appropriate care
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience in regional, remote, or complex clinical settings (preferred)
