About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist – Older Persons Mental Health to join a multidisciplinary team providing clinical care, treatment planning, and governance for consumers aged 65 + experiencing mental illness and cognitive disorders. The role spans inpatient and community settings within a large metropolitan health service.

Key responsibilities include:

- Comprehensive psychiatric assessments and ongoing management of older adults
- Clinical leadership and collaboration with GPs, aged care facilities, and internal teams
- Supervision and education of junior medical staff and registrars
- Compliance with the Mental Health Act and accurate documentation in electronic systems




- Preparation of clinical reports and participation in multidisciplinary meetings

About You

- FRANZCP or equivalent, with advanced training or accredited membership in psychiatry of old age
- AHPRA specialist registration in psychiatry
- Strong leadership, teaching, and collaborative skills
- Commitment to recovery-oriented care and cultural safety
