About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist – Forensics to join a specialist forensic mental health team. This role involves delivering high-quality psychiatric care to individuals involved with the criminal justice system, including those requiring assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation in secure inpatient and community settings.

Key responsibilities include:

- Conducting comprehensive forensic psychiatric assessments and risk evaluations
- Developing and implementing treatment plans for patients in secure units and community programs
- Providing expert advice to courts, correctional facilities, and legal stakeholders




- Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care
- Supervising junior medical staff and contributing to education and training
- Supporting service development, clinical governance, and culturally protected practices

About You

- FRANZCP or equivalent, with experience or advanced training in forensic psychiatry
- AHPRA specialist registration in psychiatry
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Commitment to recovery-oriented care and cultural safety
