Shawn Mendis Lawyers is seeking a Generalist Lawyer with 2 to 5 years of post-admission experience to join our growing Pakenham office.

We are primarily looking for a lawyer with experience in:

n

- Civil disputes and civil litigation
n

n

You will manage your own files, work directly with clients and receive support from the Principal Solicitor and our legal team.

n

Shawn Mendis Lawyers works closely with our partner firm, Mendis & Gibson Lawyers. Both firms work as one team by sharing legal knowledge, experience and resources.

About the Role

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Managing matters from initial instructions to completion
n
- Providing clear and practical legal advice
n
- Drafting applications, affidavits, submissions, consent orders and other court documents
n
- Appearing in courts and tribunals
n
- Attending mediations, conferences and settlement negotiations
n
- Conducting legal research and preparing matters for hearings
n
- Managing client relationships and court deadlines
n
- Working collaboratively with both legal teams
n

About You

n

We are looking for someone who has:

n

n
- Admission as an Australian legal practitioner
n
- A current Victorian practising certificate or eligibility to obtain one
n
- 2 to 5 years of post-admission experience
n
- Experience in one or more of our main legal areas




n
- Confidence handling court appearances, court drafting and mediations
n
- The ability to manage files with limited supervision
n
- Strong communication, drafting and time management skills
n
