Child Safety Officers (CSOs)

What you need to be a CSO To join us as a CSO you will need:
A
Completed Bachelor degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or in a related field with further study or work experience
A
Queensland Blue Card, is a mandatory requirement

An Australian Driver’s License, and the legal right to work in Australia
As part of your application, you will need to provide certified evidence of your qualifications, working rights, and driver’s license.

PO3 Starting salary of $102,817 - $111,975

What does being a CSO mean? As a CSO, you’ll be a voice for children and young people, ensuring their safety and wellbeing under the Child Protection Act 1999 . You’ll:
Work closely with families, caregivers, and community organisations
Deliver statutory child protection services, including assessment, intervention, casework, and case management
Attending court and writing affidavits
Working with partner agencies and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community organisations
Provide safe, culturally informed, and respectful support to families from diverse backgrounds

Clause 7. General provisions relating to suitability for employment

The directive relating to recruitment and selection provides that applicants for public sector roles must be informed of any suitability assessments that may be required to determine the person's suitability for employment as a public sector employee.
