Moreton Bay Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MBOG) is a specialist Gynaecology and Obstetrics practice based in Cleveland, in the heart of the Redlands. We're a small, close-knit team who take pride in providing warm, professional care to women through every stage of their reproductive health journey. We're now looking for a friendly and capable Medical Receptionist to join our front-of-house team.

We're now looking for a friendly and capable Medical Receptionist to join our front-of-house team.

About the role This is a casual position working 3 days per week from our Cleveland rooms. As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a key role in creating a calm, welcoming experience from the moment they call or walk through the door. You'll work closely with our specialists and small support team, using Genie practice management software to keep the day running smoothly.

Key responsibilities





Greeting patients and managing front-of-house reception in a specialist medical setting

Scheduling and managing specialist appointments

Answering phones and managing patient enquiries

Managing billing, Medicare and health fund claims, and payments

Using Genie practice management software for patient records, scheduling and billing

Liaising with referring GPs and other healthcare providers

General administrative support, including mail, filing, correspondence and stock management

About you

Previous experience as a medical receptionist

Experience with Genie software highly regarded

Excellent phone manner and communication skills

Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and empathy

Strong attention to detail, particularly with billing and Medicare/health fund claims

A team player who thrives in a small, supportive practice

It would also be great if you have:

Experience in a gynaecology, obstetrics or women's health setting

Knowledge of Medicare item numbers relevant to specialist billing
