Usha Food Imports Pty Ltd is an established Australian importer and distributor of leading Indian and South Asian food and grocery brands.

As we continue to expand our presence across Victoria, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Territory Sales Representative to develop and manage our Melbourne metropolitan market.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing and growing sales across Indian grocery stores, supermarkets, independent retailers, restaurants and food-service customers throughout Melbourne.

Key responsibilities include:

Regularly visiting existing customers across your allocated Melbourne territory

Developing strong relationships with store owners, managers and buyers

Actively opening new customer accounts

Presenting new products, promotions and seasonal ranges

Taking and following up customer orders

Increasing product ranging and shelf presence within existing accounts

Identifying opportunities to introduce additional Usha Food Imports brands and products

Monitoring competitor products, pricing and promotional activity

Following up outstanding customer accounts where required

Providing regular sales, customer and market feedback to management

Working towards agreed sales growth, new-account and collection KPIs

Who We Are Looking For

We would particularly like to hear from candidates who have:

Previous Indian grocery, FMCG, food wholesale or ethnic-food sales experience





Good knowledge of the Melbourne Indian grocery market

Existing relationships with Indian grocery retailers and decision-makers – highly desirable

Proven ability to develop new business and grow an existing territory

Robust communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills

Ability to work independently and plan an efficient customer call cycle

Good English communication skills

Hindi and/or Punjabi or another Indian language would be advantageous

Valid Australian driver's licence

Ability and willingness to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne

Remuneration

$75,000–$85,000 + Superannuation + Performance Incentives + Car/Travel Allowance The final package will depend on the candidate's relevant experience, existing customer relationships and demonstrated sales capability.
