ABOUT THE ROLE
Backam Group is currently seeking an experienced Trade Assistant to join a well-established industrial pump manufacturing business based in Prestons, NSW. This is a production and assembly-focused position, working exclusively with new industrial pumps and components in a clean, organised workshop and factory environment.
You'll be assisting with the manufacturing and assembly of new pumping equipment using hand and power tools. This role would suit someone who is mechanically minded and enjoys hands-on manufacturing work.
A Mechanical Trade Assistant background is highly regarded, but not essential. Candidates with strong manufacturing Trade Assistant experience and mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.

⏰ Hours: Monday - Friday | 7:00am - 3:30pm
? Pay Rate: $36.50 per hour casual

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assembly and production of new industrial pumps
- Assisting with the manufacture of pump systems and components
- Fitting and assembling mechanical components
- Using hand and power tools
- Following production instructions, drawings, and specifications
- Preparing components for assembly
- Supporting tradespeople and production teams
- Completing general workshop duties as required
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
- Following quality and workplace safety procedures
ABOUT YOU
You are mechanically minded, reliable, and enjoy hands-on production and assembly work. To be considered, you will have:
- Previous manufacturing Trade Assistant experience
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude or background
- Experience working within a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment
- Good attention to detail and quality
- Reliable transport
- Strong attendance and work ethic
- Ability to work effectively as part of a production team
Highly Regarded
- Mechanical Trade Assistant experience
- Previous pump manufacturing or assembly experience
- Mechanical fitting experience
- LF Forklift Licence
- Mechanical trade qualifications
- Additional manufacturing or high-risk work tickets
WHAT'S ON OFFER
- $36.50/hr casual
- Higher rates for relevant tickets or qualifications
- Ongoing Monday-Friday work
- Full time hours, 7:00am - 3:30pm
