Reno Blast is seeking a Trade Assistant to join one of our site based teams on a fly in/fly out, 8:6 roster for an ongoing contract at Golden Grove, Western Australia. This is a casual position with the opportunity to become fulltime for the right applicant.
As a Trade Assistant, you will support our skilled trades professionals in delivering high-quality surface protection and maintenance services to our client in the mining and resources industry. This role is instrumental in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and safely, providing essential support to experienced tradespeople whilst developing your own technical capabilities.
Key responsibilities
- Assist qualified tradespeople with routine maintenance, repair, abrasive blast & painting work on mining equipment and infrastructure
- Prepare work areas, tools and materials required for blasting & painting tasks
- Perform general labouring duties including cleaning, tidying and waste management on job sites
- Help maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Support the delivery of projects by responding promptly to site requirements and requests
- Assist with basic tool maintenance and inventory management
What we're looking for
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in the trades
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in outdoor and variable weather conditions
- Robust communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with experienced tradespeople
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and adhere to safety requirements at all times
- Reliable and punctual, with a flexible approach to casual work
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to job sites as required
- Relevant trade qualifications or apprenticeship experience is advantageous but not essential
- White Card, WAH, CS and EWP tickets preferred
