The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our team at our Hazelmere Depot in Perth.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating daily transport operations, supporting our drivers and ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant movement of freight to and from the Hazelmere Depot.
This is a Tuesday to Saturday role, working 9am – 6pm.
You will play a key role in maintaining operational performance through effective scheduling, workforce planning, driver coordination and communication, while fostering a positive and psychologically safe team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and support a team of drivers and operational employees to achieve safety, service and performance standards.
- Coordinate daily transport operations, including driver allocation, scheduling, equipment availability and departure times.
- Manage workforce planning, rostering, attendance, leave and operational coverage to maintain service continuity.
- Ensure driver rosters comply with fatigue management legislation and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements.
- Maintain clear communication with drivers and receiving depots, proactively managing and escalating operational issues.
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture, with a strong focus on employee wellbeing and retention.
- Manage workplace concerns, grievances and interpersonal issues professionally and in partnership with the People & Capability team.
- Ensure mandatory training, licences, medicals and other compliance requirements are maintained within required timeframes.
About You
You will be an experienced transport professional with a strong background in operational leadership and team management.
You Will Also Bring
- Previous experience supervising and leading teams within a transport or logistics environment.
- Strong planning, scheduling and workforce coordination skills.
- Experience managing driver rosters,
equipment allocation and depot operations.
- Sound knowledge of fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
- Understanding of freight movements, scanning and manifesting processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with drivers and internal stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to safety, compliance, service delivery and operational performance.
- Experience managing employee performance, engagement and workplace concerns.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant transport systems.
- A hands-on leadership style and the ability to make sound decisions in a rapid-paced operational environment.
