Job Description

Our client is an established construction and engineering business is seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter / Heavy Plant Mechanic to join its team based in Redbank, Brisbane.

This is a hands-on position maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of construction and heavy plant equipment. The successful candidate will work across both workshop maintenance and field breakdowns, with a company vehicle supplied for breakdown and site work.

The Role

n

You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of construction and heavy plant equipment, including:

n

- Cranes
n
- Piling rigs
n
- Excavators
n
- Heavy construction equipment
n
- Mobile plant and associated machinery
n

n

Your duties will include:

n

n
- Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
n
- Breakdown diagnosis and repairs
n
- Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault finding
n
- Field-service and onsite breakdown work
n
- Equipment inspections
n
- Component repairs and replacement
n
- Maintaining accurate service and maintenance records
n
- Ensuring equipment is operating safely and reliably
n
- Working independently when attending breakdowns and site call-outs
n

About You

n

We are looking for someone who is confident working autonomously and has strong practical experience maintaining heavy plant or construction equipment.

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

n
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Heavy Plant Mechanic, Mobile Plant Mechanic or equivalent




n
- Previous experience maintaining heavy construction or mobile plant equipment
n
- Experience with excavators, cranes, piling rigs, earthmoving equipment or similar machinery
n
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic diagnostic skills
n
- Experience completing breakdown and field-service repairs
n
- Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs with minimal supervision
n
- Current Australian driver's licence
n
- Strong commitment to safety
n
- Reliable, practical and hands-on approach
n

Experience working with equipment from manufacturers such as CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, Tadano, Grove, Franna, Terex or similar will be highly regarded.
