Your new role as Risk & Quality Manager

Hurstville Private Hospital is seeking a skilled and passionate Risk & Quality Manager to join our leadership team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Clinical Services and will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive and integrated risk and quality framework.

The Quality and Risk Manager will advise, assist and provide direction to the Hospital Executive and Management team and will ensure the framework complies with all National Standards, policies and procedures, as well as all current legislation and certification throughout Hurstville Private Hospital. Coordinating and providing leadership in the accreditation process and ensuring accurate reporting and communication of all required Key Performance Indictors, clinical Indicators, relevant data and reports are key aspects of the role.





The Quality and Risk Manager is to Coordinate Quality Improvement and Risk Management activities throughout the organisation to ensure best practice and optimal consumer outcomes. They will review and report on patient outcomes, advising and assisting in the implementation of holistic patient centred care.

Essential Criteria

Current Registration with AHPRA

Degree in Nursing and/or Equivalent

Minimum 5 years’ Post Graduate experience in multiple clinical settings

Comprehensive understanding of National Standards, Risk management strategies, Work Health and Safety, all other relevant legislation and certification processes

Knowledge of Risk Management principles and practices, relevant legislation, Australian Standards and certification processes

Knowledge of ACHS accreditation requirements and the National Safety and Quality in Healthcare Standards (NSQHS)

Exceptional collaborative Interpersonal, leadership and well-developed verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient centred care

Commitment to career development

Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable Criteria

Post Graduate qualification in Risk Management or related areas

Understanding of private hospital landscape

Experience in the development and maintenance of risk management policy and implementation of risk management programs and strategies within an organisation

Demonstrated ability to provide clinical education

Previous experience in a similar role in an acute hospital setting

Experience with HICMR infection control policies, processors and auditing tools

Understanding of financial and human resources management principles
