We are seeking an experienced Volunteer Fundraising and Grants Manager to help identify suitable funding opportunities and strengthen Compass’s approach to fundraising.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working with Compass leadership, you will help identify realistic grants and fundraising opportunities that align with the organisation’s priorities.
The role includes coordinating applications, gathering required information and helping communicate the outcomes Compass aims to achieve. You will not be expected to work without access to appropriate organisational information or leadership input.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research relevant government, philanthropic, corporate and community grants
- Assess opportunities against Compass priorities and eligibility requirements
- Maintain a grants calendar, opportunity pipeline and submission deadlines
- Coordinate information required from relevant Compass team members
- Draft and support high-quality grant applications
- Help develop clear project descriptions, budgets and outcome measures
- Maintain records of submitted applications and funding decisions
- Identify suitable community fundraising opportunities
- Support acquittal and reporting requirements for successful grants
- Recommend practical improvements to fundraising systems and processes
ABOUT YOU
You may have experience in grant writing, fundraising, partnerships, philanthropy, community development or submissions management.
You will ideally bring
- Strong written communication and research skills
- Experience preparing grant or funding applications
- The ability to interpret eligibility criteria and application guidelines
- Valuable organisation and deadline management
- Confidence gathering information from multiple contributors
- A practical and ethical approach to fundraising
- Respect for people with disability and Compass’s purpose
