Compass Institute supports young people and adults with disability to continue learning, build practical skills and participate meaningfully in their communities.

Community events, fundraising activities and partner activations help Compass build awareness, strengthen relationships and create opportunities for the people we support.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic Volunteer Event Manager to help plan and coordinate selected Compass events and community activations.

You will work with Compass leadership and relevant team members to develop practical event plans and coordinate the activities required for successful delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop event plans, timelines and checklists
- Coordinate venues, suppliers, volunteers and participating partners
- Confirm event requirements and responsibilities
- Assist with registrations, invitations and attendee communication
- Coordinate equipment, signage and promotional materials
- Support event-day preparation and delivery
- Identify risks, accessibility requirements and contingency plans
- Help gather feedback and document outcomes following each event

ABOUT YOU

You may have experience in events, hospitality,



community engagement, fundraising, administration or project coordination.

You will ideally bring

- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Confident communication and stakeholder coordination
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- A calm, practical approach when plans change
- An understanding of accessible and inclusive events
- Availability to attend selected Sunshine Coast events
- Respect for people with disability and Compass’s purpose
