This is a critical hands-on and supervisory role that oversees the daily operations of the Koala Habitat program and the essential tasks of growing and harvesting koala fodder for the Moggill Koala Rehabilitation Centre.

Your contribution The Wildlife Ranger role advertised is part of the Koala Partnerships & Programs team. The team operates in South-East Queensland to deliver services to conserve koalas and restore habitat thus contributing to the delivery of the SEQ Koala Conservation Strategy. In particular the role will:

- Lead a small team to support koala habitat restoration projects;
- Support the management and maintenance of koala fodder stem plantations;




- Support and lead the team responsible for daily harvest and delivery of koala fodder stems to the Moggill Koala Rehabilitation Centre;
- Undertake routine administration and team management including rostering, budget management and human resource management with a strong focus on Workplace Health and Safety;
- Manage procurement processes, facilities maintenance contracts and plant and equipment servicing and maintenance.

About you

- You are a self-motivated person with enthusiasm and drive. You will be able to lead a small team. You will measure your own success through your team thriving and kicking goals in a sometimes-challenging environment.
- You are a confident communicator able to engage with a wide range of people respectfully and confidently.
- You have plant and equipment skills and operational experience with mowers, tractors, chainsaws, mulchers, trailers, 4WD vehicles and a good understanding of ecological restoration practices, arboriculture and some understanding of animal husbandry requirements.
