As a Transdev WA Bus Driver, you will help people get to work, school, appointments and community activities—and return home safely each day.

It is a role where you can make a positive difference while building a stable career in an essential industry.

You will be responsible for:

· Driving safely and professionally;

· Providing friendly and respectful customer service;

· Helping passengers travel safely and confidently;

· Supporting reliable public transport services;

· Following operational schedules and ticketing requirements; and

· Completing a range of services, which may include route work, school services and rail replacement services.

No Bus-Driving Experience? We’ll Help You Get Started

Many of our drivers have joined us from completely different industries.

We provide comprehensive paid training and support, including:

· Assistance to upgrade from a C Class licence to an HR licence, subject to eligibility and applicable conditions;

· Practical bus and network training;

· Training in our policies, procedures and safety requirements;

· Buddy driving and on-road support as you build confidence;

· Assistance with some accreditation costs, subject to applicable conditions; and





· Ongoing support from operational leaders, trainers and experienced drivers.

You will not be expected to know everything on your first day. We will support you through the process.

Where Could Bus Driving Take You?

Bus driving can be the beginning of a broader career with Transdev WA.

With experience, you may have opportunities to explore areas such as:

Operations and service delivery

Supporting the daily deployment of buses and drivers through our Operations Control Centre.

People leadership

Supervising, coaching and supporting teams of drivers.

Training and mentoring

Helping new and existing drivers build their skills while continuing regular driving duties.

Assets and maintenance support

Exploring opportunities such as Trades Assistant roles and supporting our maintenance teams to keep buses safely on the road.

Career opportunities will depend on operational requirements, vacancies, experience and suitability.

What Will You Need?

To be considered, you will need to have—or be willing and eligible to obtain:

· A current WA HR, HC or MC driver’s licence; or

· A full C Class driver’s licence held for at least three years,



with a willingness to complete the required licence upgrade;

· A Passenger Transport Driver Authorisation, previously known as an F or T extension;

· A satisfactory driving record, with no more than four current demerit points;

· A Working with Children Check;

· A solid commitment to safety and customer service; and

· The flexibility to work across different roster arrangements.

You will also need to successfully complete our pre-employment requirements, which includes:

· A pre-employment medical assessment;

· Drug and alcohol testing;

· A National Police Clearance;

· Driver’s licence and driving-history checks; and

· Other role-related checks.

Rosters and Flexibility

Bus-driving rosters vary depending on the depot and the services being operated.

Available work may include

· Straight shifts;

· Split shifts;

· Route services;

· School services;

· Rail replacement services; and

· Relief work across different shift times.

We understand that roster arrangements are an important consideration. The recruitment team will explain the available work patterns during the recruitment process so you can make an informed decision about whether the role is right for you.

Working Rights and Visa Holders
