Burnett Youth Learning Centre continues to grow, and we are seeking a values-aligned, purpose-driven professional to join our dynamic team. BYLC is currently inviting applications for a Workplace Health and Safety, Compliance and Human Resources Manager position.

The role is offered as a 1.0 FTE (38 Hrs) arrangement, being to a five-day working week. The Salary Range is between $102 000 – 117 500 +Super

This role is responsible for all elements of workplace health and safety, compliance and human resources across the organisation. It is a varied and engaging position where your expertise will be used across several key operational areas that directly support staff, students and organisational wellbeing.

Experience in WH & S, compliance and human resources is essential.

This position suits someone who values collaboration, purpose led work and contributing to a positive, safe and compliant workplace culture.

About Us:

​The Burnett Youth Learning Centre is a registered Special Assistance School (SAS), affiliated with Independent Schools of Queensland, situated on a 28 hectare farm just south of Bundaberg, Queensland. We are a Christian response to a local need and we are here to support young people who have disengaged or are at risk of disengaging from mainstream education.

We offer young people the chance to learn in a supportive, alternative education setting which acknowledges and emphasises the unique God given value, goals and dreams of each individual.

About You:

- Passionate about contributing to a safe, supportive, and values led workplace within a school environment
- Demonstrate a strong ability in workplace health and safety, compliance, and human resources practice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, leadership, and external agencies
- Highly organised, detail oriented,



and able to manage systems, documentation, and processes effectively
- Committed to fostering a positive, professional, and inclusive workplace culture, adaptable, proactive, and willing to take on new responsibilities as the organisation grows

Qualifications and Experience

- Relevant qualifications in workplace health and safety & human resources.
- Experience working within a school or community-based organisation is beneficial, particularly where relationships and wellbeing are central
