Hands-on workshop role with variety, equipment and a positive team environment

Farley Riggs is looking for a practical, mechanically minded person to join our workshop team in Edinburgh, SA.

This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work, has good mechanical aptitude, and is looking for regular casual work in a workshop environment. You will work across a broad range of equipment used in the resource, energy, construction and industrial sectors.

Farley Riggs is a family-owned business with a large and diverse equipment fleet, including pressure equipment, valves, hoses, pumps, vessels, vehicles, lighting plants, telehandlers and other field equipment. Maintenance and servicing is completed from our Edinburgh workshop.

About the role

As a Workshop Technician, you will assist with the maintenance, servicing, repair and preparation of equipment and machinery to help keep workshop operations running safely and efficiently.

Your day-to-day work may include:

- servicing, repairing and maintaining workshop equipment, machinery, vehicles and tools
- assisting with fault finding, repairs and general equipment maintenance
- preparing equipment for hire, field use or customer requirements
- sand blasting, surface preparation and painting of equipment/components as required
- checking tools and equipment are safe and ready to use
- keeping records of repairs,



parts and servicing work
- maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
- following safe work procedures and reporting hazards or issues
- taking pride in preparing equipment properly for internal teams and customers

About you We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical and willing to get stuck into it.

You will ideally have

- previous workshop, mechanical, maintenance, fitting, labouring or equipment experience
- good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- confidence using hand tools and power tools
- comfortable completing hands-on workshop tasks such as sand blasting, surface preparation and painting
- ability to work safely and follow instructions
- a current driver’s licence
- a White Card
- a positive attitude and willingness to learn

A forklift licence or trade qualification would be highly regarded, but is not essential. We are open to people with strong hands-on mechanical experience who are looking for a practical workshop role with variety.

Pay: From $36.00 per hour
