Career Links is seeking a passionate and values‑driven tutor to support young people in the delivery of the NSW Government Get Back in the Game (GBIG) program. In this newly created role, you will provide tailored learning assistance and proactive monitoring to young people aged 15–21 participating in the GBIG program to help support retention and the successful completion of vocational education and training (VET), and increased achievement in GBIG program outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

As the Youth Vocational Study Tutor, your key responsibilities will be to:

- Provide tutoring and study support to GBIG participants undertaking VET.
- Support participants to remain engaged in training and progress to successful course completion.
- Deliver targeted and individualised tutoring, coaching and support based on participants needs.
- Work collaboratively with existing GBIG Pathway Consultants, training providers and support services to help address barriers to education, training and employment.
- Monitor engagement, attendance, assessment completion and overall progression through training.

About You You’re a motivated and compassionate qualified who enjoys working directly with young people and making a tangible impact.

You bring

- Experience in tutoring, learning support and/or education programs.
- Ability to engage and build trust with young people facing complex challenges.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent organisation and ability to manage caseloads and deadlines.




- An understanding of the challenges facing young people transitioning into education, training or employment.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a rapid‑paced environment.
- Commitment to youth‑safe, culturally inclusive, and child‑safe practice.

Qualifications

- Qualifications in Education, Education and Learning Support or related field and/or equivalent experience.

Mandatory Requirements

- Current Working with Children Check
- Current National Police Check
- Current NSW Driver's Licence
- Eligibility to work in Australia
- Commitment to Career Links values and child safety practices

This position requires travel across the Hunter region.
