The Role

We are seeking an autonomous, detail-driven Financial Controller to take end-to-end ownership of our compliance, audit, counterparty management, and private market investment operations.

The Financial Controller will maintain active oversight and a complete operational grasp of the financials from compliance, investment performance and financial reporting. This role requires a pragmatic qualified who can comfortably navigate high-skilled technical governance, tax, and legal frameworks while staying hands-on with operational execution across a lean team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Governance, Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Lead external and internal audit functions; update and enforce internal policies; manage insurance renewals and corporate secretarial tasks; oversee ASIC, ATO, and CAR (AFSL) compliance; liaise with local/offshore tax advisors on returns and foreign hybrid elections; and oversee BAS, FBT, and payroll tax compliance.
- Private Market Operations:



Direct the complete subscription process (including legal/tax reviews of fund docs and KYC requirements); prepare Trustee management recommendation letters; process and reconcile capital calls, distributions, and private market trade settlements; and review investment valuations.
- Counterparty Management: Act as the primary liaison for fund managers, service providers, and trustees; manage onboarding documentation; and conduct ongoing trustee service reviews.
- Financial Oversight & Operations: Maintain full visibility across weekly and monthly financial, performance, and cashflow reports; oversee property management filings; and manage supplier invoices and payment approvals.

You have a solid grasp of financial reporting, tax concepts, and private market deal structures-able to thoroughly interrogate numbers and documentation without needing to build the core management accounts yourself.
- Pragmatic Adaptability: High agility to comfortably bridge high-level technical governance, legal reviews, and strategic tax liaisons with hands-on, operational execution. No task is "too big or too small."
