Pinto is growing, and we're looking for a Production Kitchen Manager to take on the responsibility of our production kitchen and lead the team as we expand. The role is hands-on with strong opportunities for long-term growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with a pastry, dessert or bakery background who is highly organised, calm under pressure and confident managing people.
You’ll work alongside the team while also running the day-to-day operation, maintaining our quality standards and making sure production runs efficiently.
The role
You’ll be responsible for:
Running daily kitchen production
Ordering stock
Planning production from weekly forecasts
Leading a small but expanding team of kitchen staff, dishwashers and delivery staff
Delegating tasks and keeping the team moving efficiently
Maintaining high product quality and consistency
Training staff and correcting poor standards or performance
Managing staff rosters
Assisting with hiring and onboarding
Managing food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
Monitoring waste and production issues
Improving kitchen systems and workflow
Keeping the kitchen organised, positive and running smoothly
The role is initially approximately 90% hands-on production and 10% management,
with the expectation that this will progressively evolve to a 60% production and 40% management split.
Who we’re looking for
Has a pastry, dessert or bakery background
Has previous leadership or management experience
Is calm, organised and methodical
Is confident directing and correcting staff
Has excellent attention to detail
Maintains high standards whilst keeping a calm kitchen setting
Is firm but approachable
Enjoys problem solving and improving systems
Wants a long-term career in food production and leadership
Experience in larger-scale food production would be highly regarded.
Has Food Safety Supervisor certificate

You’ll bring structure, consistency and strong leadership to the kitchen.
The team should know what they’re doing, production should run efficiently, standards should remain
high and issues should be addressed quickly and calmly.

properly.
