Financial Accountant - 2-3 month contract An opportunity has become available for an experienced Financial Accountant to join an established organisation and provide additional support to the finance team during a busy reporting period.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and broader finance team, you will play an important role in ensuring month-end reporting and financial year-end preparation are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
This is a hands-on position ideally suited to an Accountant with strong financial accounting fundamentals who can quickly get across the numbers and contribute from day one.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation and completion of month-end accounts
Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments
Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare monthly financial and management reports
Investigate and explain account and reporting variances
Assist with financial year-end preparation
Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external audit
Assist with fixed assets and depreciation
Complete bank and general ledger reconciliations
Support budgeting and forecasting activities as required
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of general ledger accounts
Assist with statutory reporting and compliance requirements
Liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting
Provide general accounting support to the finance team as required
About You You will be an experienced Financial Accountant who is comfortable working in a busy environment and managing competing deadlines.
Ideally, you will have:
Strong month-end accounting experience
Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations, journals and financial reports
Exposure to financial year-end and external audit preparation
Strong Excel skills
Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Strong organisational and time-management skills
The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative finance team
CA, CPA or ACCA qualification, or progress towards qualification, would be highly regarded.
