Our client, an international steel trading business is seeking an ongoing Warehouse Storeman with Forklift experience to join their energetic team in Carrington. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials to support the company's logistics functions.

In this position you will be required to operate 5 to 16 tonne forklifts to load and unload deliveries. You must have a strong warehouse logistic background in storage and ideally have experience with heavy stock like steel, coil, debar, mesh and rolled products (containers).

This position will offer Full time hours; Monday to Friday 7am to 3.06pm

Potential overtime

What you'll be doing

Receive, unload, and stock incoming goods and materials using a forklift

Organise and maintain the warehouse layout to optimise storage and retrieval

Pick, pack, and dispatch orders accurately and in a timely manner

Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records

Assist with the loading and unloading of delivery trucks

Comply with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and load restraint requirements in accordance with legislation

Work collaboratively with warehouse and administration teams to meet daily operational targets

Identify and report damaged goods or discrepancies with warehouse admin or supervisor





Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations

Provide support and assistance to the wider logistics team as required

What we’re looking for

Demonstrated experience in a similar environment

Current Forklift licence and a minimum of 18 months experience operating a forklift safely and efficiently

A proactive and safety-conscious approach with load restraint experience desirable

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently

Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
