As a Group Life Claims Leader, you'll lead a team responsible for delivering exceptional claims management services that support members through some of life's most challenging moments.

You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the claims experience by providing leadership, technical guidance and coaching to claims professionals while ensuring decisions are made in line with policy, legislative requirements and ART Life's holistic claims philosophy.

Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you'll foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and excellence. You'll also contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance member outcomes, strengthen team capability and support long-term business objectives.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

Responsibilities
Day to day, you'll:

- Lead, coach and mentor an end-to-end claims team to achieve member, quality and business outcomes.
- Provide technical oversight, decision making and claims assessments in accordance with delegated authority.
- Support capability development through ongoing coaching, feedback and technical guidance.
- Partner with Quality Assurance teams to identify capability gaps and implement development initiatives.
- Lead your team through change while maintaining engagement, performance and alignment to business goals.




- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service, quality and productivity.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across claims, rehabilitation, reinsurance and broader business teams.
- Support strategic projects focused on operational excellence and member experience enhancements.
- Monitor emerging industry trends and translate insights into practical improvements.
- Identify, manage and escalate operational risks where appropriate.

Qualifications
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

- You have extensive experience in life insurance claims assessment and management of complex claims.
- Your understanding of group insurance products, industry regulations and legislative requirements is well developed.
- You'll demonstrate strong capability interpreting policy terms, contractual obligations and claims frameworks.
- You're experienced in leading, motivating and developing high-performing teams.
- You have a proven track record implementing service, quality and efficiency improvements.
- Your analytical skills enable you to identify trends and provide data-driven recommendations.
- You'll be comfortable managing ambiguity and resolving complex stakeholder issues.
- You're skilled at building collaborative relationships and influencing positive outcomes.




- You hold tertiary qualifications in Business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
