An opportunity has become available for a Transition Year Fellow (Education and Simulation) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Participate in the Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) simulation community of practice
- Demonstrate effective teaching skills including bedside, large and small group and skills lab settings
- Work in a tertiary referral unit and gain exposure to a varied case mix
- Be rostered on the consultant roster with support from experienced and qualified intensivists
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Possession of Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or recognised equivalent qualification
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Registration as Trainee with the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICIM) and eligible to commence training as a transitional year Fellow
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of reliable discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (up to twelve months)
- Base salary ranging from $5,284.20 - $6,109.30 per fortnight
About Us
The Gold Coast University Hospital Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is accredited to provide two years of core training in the sub-specialties of Trauma, Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic surgery. The Unit offers comprehensive Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) service that includes both fixed wing and rotary wing retrieval for the states of Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
