About the role

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Officer to join our busy manufacturing site in West Footscray. This is a great opportunity for someone who has around 1 year of experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance or quality control and is looking to develop their career further. Working closely with our Quality team and production operations, you will support the day-to-day implementation of our food safety and quality systems. This is a hands-on role, so you will spend time on the production floor as well as completing quality documentation and administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

- Complete routine quality and food safety checks across production
- Monitor GMP, hygiene and housekeeping standards
- Complete quality inspections and record results
- Assist with environmental and product testing programs
- Maintain quality records, registers and documentation
- Assist with investigating customer complaints and non-conformances
- Support corrective and preventative actions
- Assist with internal audits and preparation for external audits
- Follow HACCP, GMP and food safety procedures
- Assist with updating SOPs,



work instructions and other quality documentation

About you

- Approximately 1 year of experience in QA, QC, food manufacturing or a related environment
- A qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline, or relevant practical experience
- Basic understanding of HACCP and GMP
- Understanding of food safety and quality principles
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive written and verbal communication skills
- Good computer and administration skills
- The ability to accurately complete records and documentation
- A practical, hands-on approach
- The confidence to work on the production floor and communicate with production employees
