If you have a good understanding of agricultural machinery, are confident using computers and take pride in getting the details right, you may already have the foundations needed to succeed in this role.

At Kenway & Clark, our Parts team helps keep farmers, contractors and workshop technicians moving by identifying and sourcing the right parts for their machinery. We’re looking for someone with practical agricultural knowledge who is willing to learn the systems and processes involved in parts interpreting.

This could suit someone who has worked on a farm, operated or maintained agricultural machinery, worked for a rural supplier or machinery dealership, or gained relevant knowledge through another agricultural role.

About the role

You’ll work with customers, technicians and suppliers to identify the parts required for agricultural machinery, construction equipment and implements.

A large part of the role involves using computer-based catalogues and dealer systems, interpreting machinery information, checking part numbers and processing orders accurately. You’ll need to be comfortable learning new software, reading detailed information and carefully checking your work.

We’ll provide training in our parts systems and processes. What we need from you is a sound understanding of farm machinery, the ability to learn and strong attention to detail.

What you’ll be doing

- Speaking with customers and technicians to understand what parts they need

- Identifying parts using computer-based catalogues, diagrams and dealer systems

- Checking machinery models, serial numbers and part numbers

- Preparing quotes and processing customer and workshop orders

- Ordering parts from suppliers and following up their delivery

- Receiving,



locating and recording stock accurately

- Maintaining accurate inventory and customer records

- Helping keep the Parts department organised and running efficiently

What we’re looking for

Previous parts interpreting experience would be valuable, but it is not essential.

More importantly, you will have:

- A practical understanding of agricultural machinery and how it is used

- Strong reading, writing and basic numeracy skills

- Confidence using computers and learning current systems

- Excellent attention to detail

- The ability to communicate clearly with customers and coworkers

- A methodical and organised approach to your work

- Reliability, initiative and a willingness to learn

You may have developed your machinery knowledge through:

- Working on a farm

- Operating, servicing or maintaining farm machinery

- Working in a rural merchandise or agricultural supply business

- Employment with a machinery dealership, workshop or parts supplier

- Another hands-on role within agriculture

You don’t need to know every machine or part. You do need to be comfortable asking questions, finding information and checking that it is correct before proceeding.
