Talent International is currently recruiting Community and Stakeholder Engagement Manager to work for the NSW Government, based in Sydney (can be based in Newcastle or Wollongong). This is a 6 week contract, with the possibility of extension, paying between $850 to $950 per day + Super.

8 hours per day/ 40 hours per week

You will lead a team of communication specialists to deliver strategic engagement across NSW. Your work will give communities, customers and stakeholders meaningful opportunities to shape transport priorities and projects, while helping senior leaders understand community sentiment and emerging issues.

The opportunity

- Lead the design, delivery and evaluation of community engagement and communication plans.
- Advise senior leaders on stakeholder concerns, reputational risks and engagement opportunities.
- Build relationships across communities, government and project teams to support consistent communication.
- Use data and community feedback to improve engagement and inform decisions.
- Develop transparent narratives that connect transport initiatives with local priorities and outcomes.




- Manage sensitive issues and crisis communications alongside corporate communications and executive teams.
- Coach your team and oversee contractors to deliver high-quality work.
- Maintain effective governance, reporting and compliance practices.

About you

You bring significant experience leading community and stakeholder engagement, ideally across complex public-facing projects. You can provide sound strategic advice, manage sensitive issues and turn engagement insights into practical recommendations.

You will also have:

- A qualification in communications, media, public relations, marketing or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- An IAP2 Certificate in Engagement, or willingness to obtain one.
- A current Australian driver licence and willingness to travel.
- Availability for occasional engagement activities outside regular hours
