The Marong Family Hotel is seeking a qualified Full-Time Chef to join our team.

The Marong Family Hotel is a busy, well-established pub in the Bendigo region, offering quality pub dining across our bistro and a strong takeaway trade. We use fresh, local and seasonal produce and pride ourselves on consistent, quality food. The successful applicant must be fully qualified, have a passion for food, an eye for detail and take pride in everything they do.

You should be willing to work both in a team environment and autonomously. You must be a team player who is highly professional, motivated, and brings a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a high standard and maintaining consistent quality, presentation and portion sizes

Developing recent and innovative recipes and menu items

Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are always met

Managing inventory and ordering supplies, including stock control and stock rotation

Operating and monitoring ovens, grills,



fryers and other commercial cooking equipment

Collaborating with other members of the team to deliver an exceptional dining experience, including training and providing guidance to junior kitchen staff when required

Qualifications and experience required:

Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, and Diploma of Hospitality Management or similar

At least 1–2 years of relevant work experience in a similar role, with references

A proven track record of success within a similar role or work environment

Availability on nights and weekends

The ability to work under pressure

A team player who is highly organised and efficient

The candidate must also have strong communication skills, show attention to detail, and be well presented and punctual.
