Community Transport Services Tasmania

Hobart

CTST is a vibrant and growing not-for-profit charitable community organisation whose vision is that everyone has access to quality home care and transport support services. We focus on providing reliable, high quality and safe services - transport, home maintenance, social support and domestic assistance - to older people and people with a condition preventing them from undertaking daily activities.

Our impact is driven by a dedicated workforce of nearly 500 passionate people supported by over 100 vehicles, modern and sophisticated systems, great attitudes, and most importantly, a client-directed approach.

At CTST, we value diversity and foster a workplace culture that is committed to driving innovation, collaboration, professionalism, and respect.

About the Position

Reporting to the Quality, Safety & Risk Systems Manager, we have a part-time role working 22.8 hours per week (0.6FTE) in either our Glenorchy, Devonport or Launceston office.

The role is classified at Social & Community Services Level 3 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) with the benefit of salary packaging options.

You’ll be involved in feedback and complaints, incidents, audits, safety, risk, compliance, reporting, and quality improvement across a busy community organisation.

There will be investigations to untangle, questions to ask, problems to solve, systems to navigate, and the considerable satisfaction of helping make things better for our clients.

Your work will include:

- monitoring, triaging, actioning, and closing feedback, hazard, and incident reports in our electronic quality management system

- undertaking investigations into complaints, feedback, and incidents

- helping make sure issues are properly investigated, actions are completed, and matters are followed through to resolution

- coordinating WHS internal audit activities

- supporting quality improvement initiatives

- maintaining accurate quality, safety, and risk information

- assisting with reporting and identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.

About You

Do you notice the thing everyone else has missed?

Do you enjoy making sense of information, following a thread until you understand what actually happened, and turning “someone should probably do something about that” into something that is, in fact, done?

If so, you may be exactly who we’re looking for. You don’t need to already be a quality, safety, or risk specialist. If you have the right transferable skills and the right way of thinking, we can teach you the rest.

What matters most to us is how you think and work.

You will enjoy this role if you:

- are curious, organised, and willing to ask good questions

- have exceptional attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture

- communicate clearly and confidently

- are comfortable following things up,

including more than once when necessary

- can distinguish between something that is urgent, something that is important, and something that is merely making a lot of noise

- enjoy solving problems rather than simply identifying them

- are confident using technology and learning new systems

- can work independently while knowing when to ask for help

- treat sensitive information, clients, colleagues, and difficult situations with professionalism, empathy, and respect.

Experience in aged care, disability, community services, quality, compliance, safety, complaints, incident management, auditing, or another regulated setting would be highly regarded.

Knowledge of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards would be useful but isn’t essential.

All CTST employees must:

- hold a current driver’s licence

- have a Working with Vulnerable Persons Card (or be willing to obtain)

- have a current National Police Check (or be willing to obtain)

- be an Australian Resident or hold an Australian Working Visa
