Thanks to the strong governance and vision of our founding Directors, Meli has grown into a thriving organisation with a clear commitment to supporting people and strengthening communities. Moving forward we are seeking multiple outstanding Directors and Non-Director Committee Members to join the Boards and Board Committees of Meli Community (parent company), Meli Kindergartens and Meli Housing (Subsidiary Boards).

As we move into our next phase, we are seeking exceptional skill-based governance candidates who can help guide our continued growth, impact and sustainability.

What Could You Bring to Meli?

Previous Board experience is valuable, but we also recognise that exceptional Directors and Committee Members can come from a range of professional, community and lived experience backgrounds.

We are particularly interested in candidates who bring:

- Governance experience or Director qualifications (such as AICD, ICDA or similar)
- Relevant professional, tertiary or postgraduate qualifications, particularly in the areas of:
- Early Childhood Education, Learning and Development
- Legal
- Risk Management
- Client Voice and Safeguarding
- Compliance, Regulatory Oversight, Internal Controls and Assurance

- Experience in Board, executive or senior leadership roles
- Strong connections and ability to influence policy makers and philanthropic providers
- Strong financial literacy and an understanding of organisational performance, risk and accountability
- Expertise and/or lived experience in one or more of our priority skill areas
- Knowledge of, and connection to, the communities Meli serves
