We’re Looking For:

We are currently looking for a Quality and Compliance Manager to join our diverse team across various roles within the centre. Reporting to the Centre Manager, this role at Fireflies Early Learning Cooroy is an on-the-floor compliance and quality support role, playing a critical part in safeguarding children’s health and safety and upholding the service’s strong reputation for excellence.

As Quality and Compliance Manager, you will spend three days each week rostered in ratio across the service, floating across rooms to observe day-to-day compliance practices, and two days each week non-contact conducting compliance, safeguarding, health and safety audits, and associated reporting.

Through this role, you will have a lasting impact on children’s safety and wellbeing, support families, strengthen community partnerships, and help the service consistently meet and exceed regulatory expectations.

The Ideal Candidate:

- When required, assume responsibility of Responsible Person, or Nominated Supervisor in the Centre Manager’s extended periods of absence
- Spend minimum three days per week on the floor across the service, observing and supporting compliance practices, and two days per week conducting scheduled compliance, safeguarding, and health and safety audits
- Foster and maintain a positive, team-oriented team culture that prioritises the health, safety, and wellbeing of children, families, and staff
- Lead centre compliance strategy, training and systems to ensure all regulatory requirements are consistently met, with a particular focus on Quality Area 2: Children’s Health and Safety
- Prepare clear, accurate audit documentation and reports for the Assistant Centre Manager and Centre Manager, identifying risks and tracking corrective actions through to completion
- Demonstrate and apply up-to-date knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF)



to guide staff in meeting or exceeding national health and safety standards
- Work as an active member of the Service Leadership Team, contributing a compliance and safety perspective to service-wide decisions

Essential Criteria:

- Minimum of Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role such as Assistant Director, Centre Manager, Room Leader, or similar within an ECEC service
- Current Blue Card for working with children
- Current First Aid certification including Asthma, Anaphylaxis, and CPR
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting compliance, quality assurance, or health and safety functions within an ECEC service
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, or compliance reviews within a regulated environment
- Experience using digital documentation, compliance, or reporting platformsKnowledge of CCS systems and administrative operations within a long day care context preferred
- A genuine love for working with young children
