Early Childhood Australia has been a voice for young children since 1938. We are the peak early childhood advocacy organisation, acting in the interests of young children, their families and those in the early childhood field. ECA advocates to ensure quality, social justice and equity in all issues relating to the education and care of children aged birth to eight years.

ECA is the NT Inclusion Agency providing inclusion support to all eligible early childhood education and care services across the NT.
ECA is also the Partner in the Community for the NDIS in the Darwin Urban Region.

About the Role

The Administration & Program Support Officer role is to provide efficient administrative and operational support across ECA NT. The position supports the NT Business Operations Manager and works closely with Program Managers to facilitate the effective delivery of NT programs and services, you’ll provide front-of-house customer service, general office administration, and support across various programs and teams.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Provide high-quality administrative support across ECA NT programs, including referrals, triage, intake processes, participant records, correspondence and reporting.

- Act as a first point of contact for participants, families and service enquiries, delivering professional and responsive customer service.

- Manage calendars, meeting room bookings and travel arrangements, and support the development of newsletters, resources, events and program activities.





- Maintain accurate databases, records, equipment registers and resource libraries to support program delivery, compliance and reporting.

- Support day-to-day office operations, including fleet administration, procurement, mail, office supplies and equipment maintenance.

- Assist with the promotion, planning and delivery of programs and events, including stakeholder engagement, registrations and on-site support.

- Support organisational systems and IT troubleshooting, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and provide administrative support across ECA NT teams as required.

The role is a fixed term position for a 12-month Parental Leave replacement, 37.5 hours per week.

About you

You are friendly, approachable, and highly organised, with a genuine interest in supporting children, families, and early childhood programs. You enjoy providing excellent customer service, building positive relationships, and being part of a collaborative team.

You bring strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Confident using Microsoft Office 365 and a range of databases and business systems, you're quick to learn new technologies and enjoy helping others navigate them.

A proactive "can do" attitude, sound problem-solving skills, and a willingness to support program delivery, events, and office operations will see you thrive in this role. You value continuous learning, take pride in your work, and are committed to contributing to a positive and professional workplace culture.

The Must-Haves





- Previous administration and customer service experience

- Experience using Microsoft Office 365 and electronic record management systems

- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

- Current Driver's Licence

- Current Ochre Card, or the ability to obtain one

A National Police Check will be required prior to commencement. A current Ochre Card must be maintained for the duration of employment with Early Childhood Australia NT.

Additional Information

- Normal work hours: Monday to Friday, worked flexibly between 7:30am and 4:30pm. You may also be required to attend events outside normal working hours.

- Location: This role is based at the ECA NT Berrimah office

- Salary: Level 2 of the ECA Enterprise Agreement - from $75,399 plus superannuation. Salary packaging is available.
