About the role

We are seeking a Casual Duty Manager to join the Eight Dragons Gaming Lounge and Bar team in Adelaide SA 5000. This is a casual position that plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our venue. As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the gaming lounge and bar during your shifts, maintaining high standards of service, safety, and compliance. This role is essential to the success of our business and directly impacts the experience of our guests and the effectiveness of our team.

Key responsibilities

- Supervising and managing staff during shifts, ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintained

- Overseeing gaming machines and ensuring compliance with all relevant gaming regulations and licensing requirements

- Managing the bar operations, including stock control, cash handling, and till reconciliation

- Ensuring the venue maintains high standards of cleanliness, presentation and health and safety compliance

- Responding to customer enquiries and resolving any issues or complaints in a professional manner

- Monitoring and controlling costs, minimising wastage and promoting efficient operations

- Enforcing responsible service of alcohol and ensuring all service staff comply with legal obligations





- Conducting regular security checks and maintaining a safe environment for staff and customers

- Reporting on daily operations, incidents and any breaches of policy or regulation to management

- Training and mentoring staff members as required

What we're looking for

- Previous experience in a hospitality management or supervisory role, preferably in a gaming, bar or licensed venue environment

- Strong knowledge of gaming machine regulations and responsible service of alcohol in South Australia

- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and tact

- Sound understanding of health and safety requirements, including Work Health and Safety legislation

- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail

- Cash handling experience and basic financial management capabilities

- Reliable and professional demeanor with strong problem-solving abilities

- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) qualification, RSG (Responsible Service of Gambling) and Responsible Person Badge

- Flexibility to work casual shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
