McConnell Dowell is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join the team based in our Adelaide Terrace office overlooking the Swan River.

The need for this role is driven by continued project success and growth across our Western Australian and South Australian operations. Initially supporting a major project delivery team, this role is designed to evolve beyond a single project, providing ongoing commercial leadership across future opportunities as our pipeline continues to expand.

The Opportunity
You will provide commercial leadership across project delivery, supporting the successful management of head contracts, subcontractor agreements, commercial risk, forecasting and project performance.
Working closely with project leadership teams, you will play a key role in balancing commercial outcomes with the collaborative behaviours required within alliance and joint venture environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead commercial administration of head contracts and subcontract agreements
- Drive project cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting
- Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risk and opportunity
- Support procurement and supply chain commercial strategies
- Partner with project leadership teams to optimise project performance
- Build effective relationships with clients, partners, subcontractors and suppliers

About You

- Significant Commercial Management experience within infrastructure, construction or engineering projects
- Tier 1 and/or Tier 2 contractor experience preferred
- Strong capability in contract administration, cost control and forecasting
- Experience working within alliances, joint ventures or other collaborative delivery models
- Relevant tertiary qualification and ability to influence project and executive stakeholders
